Saving Lives Up Your Street
Who says the summer is a nice and quiet! June was a busy month for your local team of CFRs.
Our usual response duties saw us called out to a wide range of incidents ranging from cardiac arrests through falls through to burns and other injuries. Ongoing professional development saw some of the team spending a shift with our colleagues in green in response cars - this time spent with our full time colleagues in SECAmb is very valuable to keeping our skills fresh.
June also saw further PAD site training for members the public in Plaxtol and we have further sessions planned for local groups and villages - details to follow.
We were very honoured to be selected by store colleagues in Sainsbury's in Sevenoaks as a shortlisted charity for their "local charity of the year". Thank you to everyone who took the time vote online and instore for us, we will hear soon if we were the lucky charity to get selected.
This Saturday, Dortonian and Friends held their annual charity concert in Seal and we were selected as their Charity this year. We received over £500 from the proceeds. Thank you to Medina Hall and all her friends for running this event. £500 goes a long way with us as every penny we raise is spent on the front line.
Finally some words of advice now the hot weather is upon us. 1) Make sure you always have a small bottle of water with you when you are out and about. 2) Please apply lots of sunscreen when you are out in the sun. 3) Have fun!
