Well as the winter closes in, the nights are darker and wetter, and demand on the Ambulance Service rises. You will have all seen a lot of fatal RTC's this month on local roads as people unused to the slippery conditions still drive too fast and get into trouble.
Also people are failing to maintain their vehicles. We don't want to be a nag but on any given call out driving down the road we will see two or three cars with only headlight working, Now on a main road this is less of a problem, but imagine you are driving down one of the thousands of country lanes and you see one headlight coming towards you - you'll think a bike or a much smaller vehicle than may actually be the case....headlight bulbs are less than £10 fitted so don't take the gamble - get it fixed.
This month we have also had some fun training local Dunton Green residents how to do CPR and use and AED. Another twenty people trained which takes are total to well over 300 for the year. We have no more sessions planned for this year however we will be running lots of sessions next year. If you have a group or society that would like some free training please get in touch via our website.
On Thursday the 10th at 10am Stan "The Man" Willis, SEV01, the first Sevenoaks CFR will be on the Community Show on Channel Radio talking about our work. Listen live or listen again with their encore player
We were also honoured to receive a cheque for £800 from the Sencio team at Sevenoaks Leisure centre following their charity quiz night. An amazing result. Check out pictures in this weeks Sevenoaks Chronicle
We will be focussing on our response duties over the next few weeks - please remember 999 is for life threatening emergencies only. If you are generally unwell or just need advice use 111 in the first instance as they may be able to help you more than an ambulance can.
Have a wonderful safe and healthy Christmas
