April Showers…. but at least there are flowers……

Well the days are getting longer, sunnier....and wetter!  The Ambulance service is experiencing severe levels of demand for its services, and your local CFRs are stepping up to support them. Over the Easter weekend three CFRs from the Sevenoaks team were able to give up over 50 hours to be on call for the service.

Well it almost feels like spring out there now doesn't it. Certainly we hope the worst of the winter is now behind us.

Did you know that last year SECAmb's Community First Responders dealt with 18,000 emergency calls as part of their volunteer role in 2015/16 in addition to training thousands of member of the public in CPR, AED use and First Aid.

Well the cold weather is finally here, we have even seen some snow, and by our reckoning 5 times as many frosts as we had in the whole of last winter...its dark and wet and slippery on the districts roads so take your time, make sure you vehicle lights are all working and make sure you have warm clothing and snacks in your car in case you break down and get stranded.

Update – 9th April

Well what a busy month its been!  At the moment we are averaging 3-5 call outs a month, we've had the helicopter out twice, and helped patients with a huge range of conditions from Chest Pains & Cardiac Arrests, through to a lady who had fallen from her horse, head injuries, falls, diabetic problems and cuts and bruises.
